Butler Gallery is about to get a new home. In 2020 our world-renowned gallery will move to the stunning Evan’s Home behind the Carnegie Library. Moving into this renovated and updated 19th Century heritage building will allow us to:

    • Showcase works from our Permanent Collection including valuable pieces by Paul Henry, Mainie Jellet & Patrick Scott
    • Expand our Learning & Public Engagement programmes
    • Highlight the life and work of Tony O’Malley, Kilkenny’s most celebrated artist
    • Provide us with a significant gallery for our temporary exhibition programme
    • Share the historic story of this important building, site and garden
    • Provide our visitors with refreshments in a new café.
