Butler Gallery invites artists to submit workshop proposals for National Drawing Day 2018, a countrywide event initiated by the National Gallery of Ireland. This will be the 10th National Drawing Day coordinated by the Butler Gallery in Kilkenny Castle Park.

We are delighted to welcome artist Martina O’Brien to Butler Gallery on Wednesday 4th April at 1pm for our ‘Meet the Artist’ lunchtime event. This informal exhibition walkthrough will give you a chance to hear about Martina’s practice and learn about the work featured in Martina’s exhibition ‘At Some Distance in the Direction Indicated’.

Places are limited so booking is advised. Please call 056 7761106 to book your place.

    Childrens Programme

Suitable for children aged 5-12 years, our FREE Children’s Programme invites children into the Gallery to have their say about the exhibition and make their own work in response. Facilitated by professional artists, these activities encourage children to express their opinions, learn about art and use a variety of interesting and exciting materials to create their own art works.

Further details and workshop dates are available here.

Butler Gallery invites people living with dementia and their family, friends or professional carers to visit our exhibitions, to look and discuss with others in a safe and welcoming environment.
