Suitable for children aged 5-12 years, our Children’s Programme invites children into the Gallery to have their say about the exhibition and make their own work in response. Facilitated by professional artists, these activities encourage children to express their opinions, learn about art and use a variety of interesting and exciting materials to create their own art works.

What to Expect?
A trained facilitator will create a warm atmosphere that encourages conversation, where each person gets to enjoy the engagement at their own pace and in their own way. Participants can expect a seated tour of the gallery with time given to experiencing a selection of work from the exhibition. The tour ends with a cup of tea or coffee in the Castle Tea Rooms, just next to the Butler Gallery.
Please note, Butler Gallery is located down a flight of steps in the basement of Kilkenny Castle. Unfortunately there is no step-free access and is therefore unsuitable for people who use a wheelchair or have mobility difficulties.
If you are thinking of coming along, feel free to contact Pauline or Hollie on 056 7761106 to talk through any ideas, thoughts or concerns before your visit.
These tours are free of charge but booking is essential as places are limited. Please call 056 7761106 or email email@example.com to book your place.
Please check back again for Azure Tour dates or call the Gallery if you would like to book in a group.
