    The Breadwinner: Artists Talk Series

    Technical Director for The Breadwinner Mark Mullery will deliver our first artists talk of The Breadwinner exhibition.

    The Making of The Breadwinner will be an audio visual exploration of the making of the film, in a talk which Mark has delivered all over the world.

    Join us at The Parade Tower on Wednesday 20th June at 1pm for this spectacular lunchtime talk. This is a free event, no booking is necessary.

    This is the first of four artists talks by Cartoon Saloon artists and directors during The Breadwinner exhibition! Join us on Wednesday 4th JulyWednesday 11th Julyand Wednesday 18th July for further Cartoon Saloon artists talks. This is an exclusive look behind the scenes of the making of the film for Kilkenny audiences!

    Call for Tender 

    We’re excited to announce a call for tenders for the delivery of the new Butler Gallery Youth Engagement Programme 2018-2021.

    This programme will be responsive to our changing temporary exhibitions, permanent collection and existing Learning and Public Engagement programmes. It gives the successful coordinator or team a chance to develop innovative programming for the 13-25 age range, with the possibility of developing regular and once off programming.

    The value of this tender is €90,000 and the timeframe is 3rd September 2018 to 3rd September 2021.

    Submission deadline is 3rd July 2018. This contract is subject to Leader funding.

    Suitable for children aged 5-12 years, our FREE Children’s Programme invites children into the Gallery to have their say about the exhibition and make their own work in response. Facilitated by professional artists, these activities encourage children to express their opinions, learn about art and use a variety of interesting and exciting materials to create their own art works.

    Butler Gallery invites people living with dementia and their family, friends or professional carers to visit our exhibitions, to look and discuss with others in a safe and welcoming environment.
