    Richard Mosse: Incoming
    7 August – 20 September, 2020

Butler Gallery, will launch the Irish premier of Kilkenny-born Richard Mosse’s triple-screen installation Incoming in its new double-height gallery at Evans’ Home. This is the first time a work of this scale and nature has been possible to exhibit in Kilkenny. The work was first shown in the Barbican’s Curve Gallery in 2017 and was made in response to the mass migration crisis unfolding across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, the largest displacement of people since WWII. Incoming documents the journeys of refugees into Europe.

    2 October, 2020 – January, 2021

Butler Gallery continues its successful partnership with Cartoon Saloon in presenting an exhibition in response to Wolfwalkers, Cartoon Saloon’s new film to be released in 2020. The exhibition highlights the strengths and messages of this animated film whose story is based in medieval Kilkenny and includes core working drawings and backgrounds. This interactive and immersive exhibition is designed by Stephen McNamara of Roji and will coincide with the Irish premier of the film.
