Chloë O’Connor is a fundraising and business development manager in the arts. Her love and belief in the importance of the arts to society is what drives her. She graduated from NUI Maynooth in 1997 with a B.A. Hons Degree in History & Classics, and has had a rich and varied career spanning the public and private sector.
Having worked in I.T. as a programmer and technical support operative in her early career she joined her family’s business in 2004, bags.ie, where she worked for over six years as head of Sales & Business Development. During this time she also set up a second business with her father, Stronghold Packaging Distributors Ltd, specializing in reusable, environmentally friendly, packaging. She travelled extensively for work throughout Europe, China and North America. During this time she also worked as a fundraiser, voluntarily with Ranelagh Arts Festival and PhotoIreland.
After leaving her family business, she worked as a professional fundraiser with Kilkenny Arts Festival in 2011 and as Development Manager with Dublin Theatre Festival during 2012/13. She has been on the board of Butler Gallery, Kilkenny since September 2011. In June 2013, Chloë acquired loveletters.ie, which produces Irish designed, handmade wedding stationery. She ran and developed this business over three years, winning industry awards and culminating in the sale of the business to Prontaprint in Dublin.
She is currently on contract as a fundraiser at the National Concert Hall, Dublin.
